Will my radio controlled clock reset itself?

I have a radio shack radio controlled clock and the batteries went out on it. I put in new batteries but the time has not reset yet. I put in the new batteries about two hours ago. Will it eventually reset on its own or is there some way that I can set it?

Hiya.
The clock should set itself. You might need to remove the batteries for a while before reinserting them, so that any current is fully discharged.
If the clock doesnt set itself, try moving it to another area.
Some clocks have 2 metal pins on the back, this is a reset feature and you can activate it by connecting them with something metalic such as a paperclip or the end of a spoon.
Other clocks such as digital clocks you may have to press and hold down the buttons to reset it.

Consult your manual or obtain one off the internet if you have lost it, but its usualy one of the simple fixes i described above.

Can Radio Controlled Clock work in all countries?

Are they just work in UK?

They can certainly work in the UK and most of Wester Europe and also the US I believe, however depending on the model you may have to make an adjustment if possible, as the UK time is from Rugby and sends GMT/BST timing whereas the European signal is from Germany (I’m pretty sure!) and sends a one hour earlier time. Contact the manufacturer for advice.

lol thats cute that a clock spooked u, probly just signal

i tihnk bad weather can cause the signal too fade out

I have acquired a science museum radio controlled clock globe shaped?

However, there is no manual and finding an ac adapter small enough to fit it is almost impossible. Without an ac adapter it will not project the time onto the ceiling or wall. Can anyone help me with this?

Your best bet would be to take it into a store like RadioShack so they can determine the plug size, polarity and voltage for a matching adapter.

Why aren’t atomic (radio-controlled) clocks available on vehicles?

Because there is not that great a demand for them!! The market will supply what the public wants. If enough people want those clocks, some car maker will install them!!

Radio Controlled clocks?

Could I buy a Radio controlled wall clock and post it as a gift to South Africa. Would it work in South Africa ??

a usa clock picks up its signal from the usa atomic clock, on the usa frequency

wont work too far away

same as it wont work in the UK, as i had to buy a new one from the uk as my old one wont work here

different radio frequencies and distance

what is a radio controlled clock and how does it work?

i have bought a radio controlled wall clock but i dont know how it works.no option to set the dials

A radio controlled clock, also known as an atomic clock, works by synching with a central clock that sends out a radio signal. This central clock keeps time by monitering the decay of radioactive materials with a known half life. For this reason, they are extremely, extremely accurate and will stay accurate to the second virtually forever.

Each clock is different, you would have to check the instructions, but usually you just plug it in, and hang it up. It’s programmed to synch every so often, and when that time hits, the hands will set themselves.

Plug it in, and give it 24 hours (it should take far, far less) if you can’t find any instructions to set it up.

Radio Controlled LED Clock

This is the first prototype of a self-made radio controlled LED clock. I turned the clock upside down so that you can see the wiring and the components.

Twelve 8-bit shift registers (54HC595) along with twelve transistor arrays (ULN2803) are used to drive the 190 diffuse 5mm LEDs. An ATmega8 microcontroller (on solderless breadboard) decodes the DCF77 longwave time signal and feeds the shift registers with data.

The final clock housing is going to have a 30×30 cm red acrylic glass front plate to enhance contrast.

Are digital radio controlled clocks next to your bed dangerous to your health?

are they as bad as mobile phones? many thanks in advance

No there is nothing dangerous about them, except when you have a power failure and you don’t wake up in time for work, then they could get you fired!
